Eric Alper serves as Deputy General Counsel to SkyBridge. He came to the firm from the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of U Capital Group, LP, one of SkyBridge’s seeded funds. Prior to joining U Capital, Mr. Alper was Chief Financial Officer of Weston Capital Management, LLC (2006 – 2007), Vice President of Finance at Ivy Asset Management Corp (2004 – 2006) and a Vice President at Neuberger Berman (2000 – 2004). He was also employed by several multinational corporations as Tax Counsel, and started his career in public accounting.
Mr. Alper received an LLM in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, and a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan’s School of Business Administration; in addition, Mr. Alper is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and attorney with the State of New York.
Deidre Ball is in Investor Relations at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge in 2007, she worked at Eton Park Capital Management as Executive Assistant to Scott Prince. Ms. Ball began her career as a Human Resource Specialist at JPMorgan’s Investment Bank Training & Development group.
Ms. Ball earned a B.A. in Communications from the University at Buffalo.
Peter Carey is a Managing Director of SkyBridge's institutional investor business. Mr. Carey will be advising SkyBridge's institutional investors on initiating, growing, and restructuring allocations to hedge funds. Prior to SkyBridge, Mr. Carey led the successful restructuring of the New York State Common Retirement Fund's $4 billion hedge fund portfolio. Under his direction, the hedge fund investment portfolio was rebuilt amidst the market crisis of 2008 to become one of the best performing public hedge fund investment portfolios in the country. The pension fund was recognized by Institutional Investor as Large Public Pension Plan Investor of the Year in 2010 for its ability to build and manage a hedge fund portfolio and for long-term performance. Prior to joining New York State Common Retirement Fund, Mr. Carey served in the institutional fixed income department at Bear Stearns. Mr. Carey also served as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Carey is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He holds an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Southern California. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the United States Military Academy Endowment.
King Chan is a Vice President of Hedge Fund Accounting at SkyBridge, responsible for both funds of hedge funds and managed accounts. Prior to this role, Ms. Chan performed a similar role in the Hedge Fund Management Group at Citigroup Alternative Investments (CAI). Before joining CAI in 2005, she worked at The Bank of New York as a senior Mutual Fund accountant .
Ms. Chan received B.S. in Finance and Management Information System from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She is also CAIA charterholder and is a member of CAIA association.
Sarah Hansen is an Associate at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge in 2008, she interned at Bank of New York Mellon in the Mortgage-Backed Securities group in 2007.
Ms. Hansen received a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Vanderbilt University.
Alyson Hopkins joined SkyBridge in July 2010 as an Executive Assistant. Prior to this role, she was an Executive Assistant in the Hedge Fund Management Group at Citigroup Alternative Investments (CAI). Ms. Hopkins joined Citigroup in 2005 as an Assistant to the Head of Global Sales. She also served as an Assistant to the Sustainable Development Investments team.
Ms. Hopkins received an Associates Degree from the Katherine Gibbs Business School.
Christopher Hutt is the Head of Hedge Fund Administration and Operations at SkyBridge where he is responsible for managing the operations for the SkyBridge product suite and is also the product manager for the fund of hedge fund products and managed accounts. Prior to this role, Mr. Hutt was Director of Hedge Fund Operations within the Hedge Fund Management Group at Citigroup Alternative Investments (CAI). Prior to joining CAI in 2004, Mr. Hutt held various product management positions at Morgan Stanley & Co. and JPMorgan Chase over an eight year span.
Mr. Hutt received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Cortland.
Janice Lann is a Vice President of Hedge Fund Accounting at SkyBridge, responsible for both funds of hedge funds and managed accounts. Ms. Lann previously held a similar position in the Hedge Fund Management Group at Citigroup Alternative Investments (CAI), where she also worked on single manager funds. Prior to joining CAI in 2006, Ms. Lann was a managed accounts accountant at NuVerse Advisors.
Ms. Lann received a B.B.A. in Accounting from Baruch College, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Louis LaValle is a Director of global platform distribution at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge, Mr. LaValle was a key member of a wealth advisory group at Smith Barney (now part of Morgan Stanley), overseeing business development and client relationships. While at Smith Barney, Mr. LaValle and his group managed $1.5 billion of individual and institutional assets, and consistently ranked in the top 5% of the firm in overall production. He began his career at the Credit Suisse Private Bank in 2003.
Mr. LaValle earned a B.A. from New York University where he graduated with cum laude honors.
Rob Mazurek is a Director of SkyBridge's institutional investor business. Prior to joining SkyBridge, Mr. Mazurek was an Investment Officer and portfolio manager for the Absolute Return Strategies Group of the New York State Common Retirement Fund ("NYSCRF"). His responsibilities included portfolio strategy, manager selection, and risk monitoring for the fund's $4 billion hedge fund allocation. Before joining NYSCRF in 2006, Mr. Mazurek specialized in credit analysis with bond insurer FGIC and held various roles in financial analysis for a private equity holding company of Thayer Capital, Microsoft Corporation, and the Financial Advisory Services Group at Coopers & Lybrand.
Mr. Mazurek received a B.S.B.A from Georgetown University and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
Matt McCann is a Vice President and heads the marketing efforts for various SkyBridge managers. In addition, he works on all marketing initiatives related to the SkyBridge fund products. Prior to SkyBridge, Mr. McCann worked at 1-800-flowers.com as a staffing coordinator.
He received a B.A. in Business Management from Hofstra University.
Jonathan McEvoy is a Senior Vice President in Business Development at SkyBridge. Previously, Mr. McEvoy was an Investment Banking Analyst and Associate at RBC Capital Markets.
Mr. McEvoy earned an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management where he concentrated in Finance and a B.A. from Dickinson College.
Samantha Nick is an Associate in Investor Relations at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge this year, she interned at The United States Securities and Exchange Commission in the summer of 2009.
Ms. Nick received a B.A. in Economics from New York University.
A. Marie Noble is General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of SkyBridge Capital. Prior to joining SkyBridge, Ms. Noble was an Associate General Counsel at Citigroup Alternative Investments, where she was lead counsel supporting various hedge fund platforms managed by Citi's registered investment adviser. Ms. Noble joined Citi in 2006 after spending six and a half years practicing corporate law in the New York and London Offices of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, where her primary focus was on domestic and international securities transactions.
Ms. Noble received a B.A. degree magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bucknell University and a Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Boston University where she served as Note Editor on the Boston University Law Review.
Amanda Ober is Vice President of Global Development and External Affairs. Prior to joining SkyBridge, Ms. Ober spent eight years as a political consultant for regional and national campaigns and various public figures. Ms. Ober started her career developing public relations and marketing strategy for global lifestyle and luxury brands.
Ms. Ober graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Communications Design and Advertising.
Max Osborne joined SkyBridge Capital in 2010. He is Head of Distribution responsible for broker dealer and independent distribution relationships. Prior to joining SkyBridge, Mr. Osborne managed US sales for The Permal Group, where he was a key member of the team that launched the company’s first domestic fund of hedge funds and a 1940 Act registered mutual fund to all major distributors. Before joining Permal in 2007, Mr. Osborne spent five years at Legg Mason covering sales for southern California and Hawaii. He has also worked as an independent financial advisor.
Mr. Osborne has a B.A. from Western Connecticut State University.
Victor Oviedo is Partner and Head of Business Development at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge in 2006, Mr. Oviedo was a Senior Consultant in the Capital Markets Management Consulting Group at Oliver Wyman, a financial services and strategy risk management consulting firm. He began his career in investment banking at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and has also held positions at Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust.
Mr. Oviedo holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University. He earned his B.A. degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
Robert Phillips is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer of SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge in 2007, Mr. Phillips served as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of two investment management companies--Lucerne Management, LLC and Coventry Capital, LLC. Prior to 2001, Mr. Phillips served as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of a publicly held bio-pharmaceutical contract service organization where he was responsible for all finance, accounting, SEC reporting, and investor relation functions. Mr. Phillips began his career as an auditor and spent 8 years with BDO Seidman, LLP, a national professional services firm which provides assurance, tax, financial advisory and consulting services to a wide range of publicly traded and privately held companies.
Mr. Phillips earned a B.A. degree in Accounting from Upsala College in 1984 and is a certified public accountant.
Brahm Pillai is a Vice President of Product Management at SkyBridge. Mr. Pillai is responsible for setup, operational management and trade execution for the various fund of hedge fund products and managed accounts at SkyBridge. Before joining SkyBridge in July 2010, Mr. Pillai was a Product Manager within the Hedge Fund Management Group of Citigroup Alternative Investments (CAI), having an active role in the operational management of the firm's offered products. Prior to joining CAI in 2005, Mr. Pillai worked in the Structured Finance Department at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP, specializing in Mortgage-Backed Securities and Asset-Backed Securities issuance and underwriting.
Mr. Pillai received a B.A. in Business and Media from New York University.
Sue Ponce is the Chief Administrative Officer at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge, she was the Chief Administrative Officer and Anthony Scaramucci’s executive assistant at Neuberger Berman and Oscar Capital Management. Previously, she worked at Goldman Sachs as Mr. Scaramucci’s executive assistant and a senior sales assistant in the institutional equities department. Ms. Ponce began her career at Kidder Peabody as a senior sales assistant.
She received a B.A. in Economics from SUNY Albany.
Jeanie Reyes joined SkyBridge in 2009 as Accountant within our Operations group. She comes to SkyBridge with previous fund of funds accounting experience from Prisma Capital Partners. Prior to her work in accounting, she worked within the Sales Administration division of L’Oreal Paris.
Ms. Reyes received her BBA in Accounting from Baruch College in 2006.
Joe Rosano is an Associate on the firm’s marketing and business development teams. Prior to joining SkyBridge in September 2010, Mr. Rosano interned at SkyBridge in the summer of 2010 and at the Tufts University Finance Division.
Mr. Rosano earned a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and graduated magna cum laude.
Barry Schanker is the Head of Sales and a Director at SkyBridge, where he is responsible for the global distribution of the SkyBridge product suite across all channels and platforms. Prior to this role, Mr. Schanker performed a similar role in the Hedge Fund Management Group at Citigroup Alternative Investments (CAI) and was the National Sales Director at CAI. Mr. Schanker has been in the investment banking industry since 1984 starting out with the predecessor firm Shearson Lehman Brothers. He has held various Taxable Fixed Income Trading and Sales positions on the institutional and retail level, including three years in the Portfolio Management group at Salomon Smith Barney, a subsidiary of Citigroup.
Mr. Schanker received a B.S. from C.W. Post University in New York where he graduated with cum laude honors.
Minna Urrey is the Senior Compliance Officer at SkyBridge Capital. Prior to joining SkyBridge in 2007, Ms. Urrey was a co-founder and Vice President of Global PACT, Inc., an organization providing international social entrepreneurship training in the US, Africa, Asia, and Europe. She also worked for the Aresty Research Center for Undergraduates in the administration of Rutgers University.
Ms. Urrey graduated first in her class and received a B.A. degree with highest honors from Rutgers College. She holds the Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation from the FINRA Institute at Wharton.
Peter Weinberg is a Director and Head of Investor Relations at SkyBridge. Prior to this role, Mr. Weinberg was the founding partner of Elevate Ventures, a specialized investor relations consultancy, and was interim Chief Financial Officer for Advanced Infrastructure Technologies, an Elevate client. Before Elevate, Mr. Weinberg founded Slingpage, a social software company that he later sold to AdKnowledge. Before Slingpage, Mr. Weinberg was the Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Development for FindWhat/MIVA, a $750 million market capitalization search advertising company. Prior to this role, Mr. Weinberg spent ten years in investment banking, successfully raising capital for 70+ IPO and secondary transactions, most recently as Vice President of Investment Banking for SoundView Technology Group.
Mr. Weinberg has a BA in Economics from Boston University.
Chip Welsh is an Associate on the firm’s marketing and business development teams. Prior to joining SkyBridge in January 2010, Mr. Welsh interned at the Aetos Capital Fund of Hedge Funds in New York and at Fox Television in Chicago.
He received a B.A. in History from the University of Michigan.
Jason Wright is a Partner and Head of Sales at SkyBridge. Prior to SkyBridge, Mr. Wright was Managing Director of Business Development at Soleil Securities Group. He was also Managing Director at SoundView Ventures from 2000 to 2003 and Director at Wit Capital Group from 1996 to 2000.
Max von Bismarck is Partner and Chief Executive Officer Europe at SkyBridge. Prior to joining SkyBridge, Mr. von Bismarck was the Head of Investors at the World Economic Forum, where he built and led an international team based in New York and Geneva responsible for all global activities and relationships of the World Economic Forum related to Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Institutional Investors, Family Offices and Sovereign Funds (a community of over USD 4 trillion AUM). Previously Mr. von Bismarck was a Managing Director at PublicOne and a Director Legal at Mondus Limited.
Mr. von Bismarck studied Law and Modern History at St. John's College, Oxford University, and Humboldt Univeristat zu Berlin and holds an Executive Masters in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum (Program in collaboration with Wharton Scholl of Business, Columbia University, INSEAD and London Business School). He is a Senior Advisor on Global Business at the Asia Pacific Research Center of Stanford University, a Senior Advisor for Europe at the Nicolas Berggruen Institute and continues to serve as a Senior Advisor to the World Economic Forum.
